Welcome to Single Mom Nation.

My name is Debbie, and I’m the single mom of three beautiful humans.

I created this blog because being a mom can feel like a lonely existence. Being a single mom can sometimes feel like a never ending sentence. I wanted other moms (single and otherwise) to know that you’re not alone.

I became a single mom by divorce when my children were 3, 7 and 10, and even though I love my children more than my own life, I’d have to admit that there were days when I wanted to simply get into the car and drive away.

But that wasn’t an option.

It’s likely not an option for you either, or you wouldn’t be reading this.

I know that there are literally millions of moms who feel exactly the same way, and that’s why Single Mom Nation exists.

I should also tell you that my ‘children’ are now 22, 26 and 29, and I made it out of their childhoods as a single mom with my sanity intact 🙂 I take every opportunity to let other moms (single and otherwise) know that the “single mom struggle” does actually end, and that you should cherish every minute that you have with your children, because that time goes by in a heartbeat.
